Free Craft Ideas To Do With Your Kids!

If you are looking for (almost) free craft ideas you can do with your kiddos this summer (or anytime really), then all you really have to do is step outside!

 BARK RUBBINGS

This is just as easy as it sounds! All you need is a few pieces of blank paper and some crayons. Then take an “adventure walk” around your neighborhood park (or even your own backyard) and see how many different trees you can find! When you’ve found a new tree, lay your paper on the bark and rub your crayon sideways (back and forth) over the bark until it’s “copied” on your paper! Kids will love comparing the different bark styles they’ve found!

LEAF COLLAGE

Mother Nature has given us the gift of hundreds of different types of leaves and foliage for us to enjoy! Take your little one and see how many different styles you can identify, borrow a few leaves and have fun gluing together a fun leaf collage onto wax paper you can then hang up and enjoy year round! Make sure you only choose plants you know to be safe and not poisonous.

PAINTED ROCKS

This is a favorite for kids of all ages, including teens! Collect rocks that are roughly the size of the palm of your hand, and then have fun painting unique designs on them (anything you want)! Then, hide the rock in plain sight in a public place for someone else to find and enjoy! Just make sure you don’t hide them in the grass where mowers might be damaged. There are even tons of fun websites and Facebook pages where you can find for inspiration for your rock creations or to share pics of rocks you find!

Getting outside and getting creative with your children will build beautiful memories (and crafty treasures) you can cherish for years to come!
